Our Lanzarote guide

We love Lanzarote: its light, its energy, its landscapes are a unique place in the world that inspires us, to which we travel often and never ceases to amaze us.

A trip that we undoubtedly recommend, and for which we have prepared a very special guide that you should not miss. Join us on this more personal tour of places to sleep, eat and explore, in which we have included a selection of stores where we are lucky enough to sell our products.

The most special thing about Lanzarote is its unique landscape, dotted with its volcanoes, the characteristic shape of its crops and its buildings following the traditional architecture of the island.

Another determining component of the island is the influence of its most universal artist, César Manrique, a painter, sculptor and artist who knew how to see the potential of the island and was a key player in the protection of its landscape and the construction of tourist centers that enhanced its unique character.  In his work and in his life he sought harmony between art and nature, something that we admire and share.

Jameos del Agua and Montañas de Fuego, in the Timanfaya National Park are points that you should not miss. The first is a space created by César Manrique taking advantage of a volcanic tunnel unique in the world, which includes a natural lagoon with endemic species.

The second, a National Park where you will take a tour of volcano craters that seems from another world. In addition, you will see water turned into steam emerging from the depths of the earth. Both centers have stores where you can find products from local designers as well as our jewelry.

The Cactus Garden is also one of our favorite places to get lost among its incredible variety of cacti and try the restaurant's menu, made with that ingredient as the main theme.

The César Manrique Foundation is another site that you should not miss. Located on some natural volcanic bubbles, where the artist built his house, it also contains the collection of contemporary art that César created.

Stratvs winery is located in the island's wine region, called La Geria. They have guided tours of their vineyards and wineries, and they also have a restaurant and a tavern where you can try the local volcanic Malvasia variety and their own homemade cheeses, in a beautiful store along with a careful selection of local craft products.

To eat directly in front of the sea, El Bogavante Restaurant, in El Golfo, is an ideal option..

Located next to Lake Verde, you can eat fresh fish and delicious rice in an environment that you will not forget. Following that road, the Janubio Salt Flats (Salinas) are also worth a visit.

Room 2.1.4 Concept Store is worth a visit in its own right. Located in the Fariones Hotel, but with independent access, it is a unique store. An Artisan Concept Store that contains a unique selection of local and national crafts, fashion, design and gastronomy products that you will not find anywhere else in the Canary Islands.

As accommodation, we recommend the Casa de los Naranjos, a 17th century house located in the picturesque town of Haría, in the north of the island. Here you can enjoy the charm of an old house renovated and tastefully decorated with period furniture, including the house's original library with century-old volumes.

In Haría we recommend visiting its craft market on Saturdays and eating at La Puerta Verde, with delicious local products. Of course, if you dine in the town, keep in mind that it must be early, since at 9 p.m. you will find everything closed! Another option is the nearby town of Arrieta. At La Nasa you can find first-class fish and rice by the sea, and take a swim in neighboring Punta Mujeres.

The town of Teguise, located in the center of the island, is worth a visit for its typical island architecture and unique charm. There you will find the Artisan & Co store, an art gallery with locally designed crafts.

In Costa Teguise, the Salinas Hotel, designed by architect Oscar Higueras, is a landmark that is worth visiting. Opened in 1977, it marked a milestone for its interior garden design and its murals and pool area designed in collaboration with César Manrique. Today, it is still relevant, as is the case with good architecture. In your Lava Boutique store, you can find our jewelry, along with another very special selection of products.
